Just Art

There’s nothing more satisfying than leaving an artwork to a point where you are somewhat willing to leave it. I don’t want to use the word complete with it because it’s very hard to look at your art that way.

I can’t call them complete.

Or I can’t say I’m satisfied with the work.

But I do feel satisfied with myself to bring it to that point.

I don’t know if I’m making any sense. I’m on anti-allergy and now my head is melting, partly because I was out for some work in scorching heat.

Trust me I know what melting brain smells like.

So I pulled this work from my headboard, picked my pastels and just did what I felt like doing.

No rules, no plans, just art.

  1. You are quite right, a work of art is never finished and one may not force oneself to finish it. Every artist instinctively senses when it one must stop. The image can easily be overworked and will lose its magic. No, your statement makes perfect sense.
