Tale of a Humble Castle #NaPoWriMo Day-2

I remember those pale walls
I remember that metal door

Ceiling ambled by spiders and lizards
Cleaning spider webs was her weekly chore

She mopped, like her life relied on it
You could see your reflection in the marble floor

She lived a zero-waste lifestyle
Our broken toys lived in the store

Evenings were warmed by tea and popcorn
Hopscotch on the rooftop, nobody kept score

Ticking of the wooden clock at night
Howls of stray dogs, scared me to the core

But mornings were a different story
Grandma’s parathas pushed all the fears ashore

I can ramble till an eternity
Don’t wanna sound like a bore

It’s tale of a humble castle
Where no soul lives anymore.
