Don’t ignore your medium for so long that it stops recognizing you.
I did my last charcoal sketch on 25th Aug 2022, while C and I were on one of our never-ending zoom calls.
That was the last charcoal sketch I did.
I have been wanting to use charcoals again but something was holding me back and something was really urging me to do it. I will explain this part later, I just discovered something about grief…
Well…
Today I mustered up the courage and started following a tutorial.
This was a different technique from what I do usually and somewhere in the middle I thought I’m really messing this up… but that happens every frigging time.
Well.
Here it is…
A quick charcoal sketch with just 1 willow stick, kneaded eraser and a soft compressed charcoal pencil here and there.
I avoided white or any other colour for highlights, just to experiment.
This is it.
As always please feel free to share your feedback as it helps me grow.
Thanks and have a survivable Monday. 😉

It’s good you restarted. I can relate. I think I stopped writing poetry after my dad died.

I didn’t even focus on eyes a lot in this one. I really used to with my works previously. Kinda miss that..hmm maybe in the next piece 🙂 thank you!
