I took this picture to write a review of the book “the plague”, but since I haven’t finished it yet, the review will have to wait
Right now we are here for these fake yellow tulips.
Every flower has a story, in fact everything has a story if you remember it.
My mother used to love flowers when she was with us (we lost her 2 years back), we had a separate patch of roses next to our main gate.
Then different types of jasmines around the house.
She loves flowers and so did we but she loved taking care of them too.
Inside, the same was the case with fake flowers.
Now when I look around she had kept them in some form in every room. If they weren’t in vases, they were in form of ribbon art on a frame.
We didn’t see this pattern in her life because she was there to take care of them.
Last month, I was looking for a prop to place with this book in picture and in a glimpse across the room, these yellow tulips struck my fancy.
They were standing in a dark blue vase (wish I took a picture).
I took them out and it was saddening to see a layer of dust all over it.
The leaves and petals had formed defused grey edges which reminded me of how lovingly she tended to every small detail.
Next, there was a thorough flower arrangements laundry session of every flowed I could find.
And once done, they all were bright and happy again.
We can never completely measure the impact of a person in our lives.
We always end up missing some small detail or other and only realize it when we don’t have that person.

Beautiful. The tulips make a nice juxtaposition to the idea of a plague B-)
