Withering leaf – NaPoWriMo Day 1

My chest folds
Into itself
To fill the hollow
You left behind
Crumbling and breaking
Smothering me again
As I look around
For something
Or anyone
To fill that parched hole
That feeds on my joy
My sanity
My life
To curb its hunger
But all in vain
And I lay still
And hear, silently
My heart crumple
Like a withering leaf
