Withering leaf – NaPoWriMo Day 1

My chest folds
Into itself
To fill the hollow
You left behind
Crumbling and breaking
Smothering me again
As I look around
For something
Someone
Anything
Or anyone
To fill that parched hole
That feeds on my joy
My sanity
My life
To curb its hunger
But all in vain
And I lay still
And hear, silently
My heart crumple
Like a withering leaf
