Either you succumb to life or you desperately look for some way to survive.
I chose the latter.
It’s not easy. It’s petrifying to say the least.
It’s an internal world war between all your fears.
But I if I see myself 5 years into future.. I don’t regret choosing to fight even if I lose an arm or leg.
Nothing feels better than freedom even if you are starving.
So, I was looking into a lot of options. Applying jobs blindly, looking for part time job options, on the same time trying not to drive myself insane.
All of this somehow pushed me to look into e-publishing/self-publishing all over again.
I did thorough research on it few months back then I stopped as my novel was in infancy.
But e-publishing a poetry book looks like an achievable feat.
I copied my poetry only from my blog and it made a document of 152 pages.
So, if I pick 50 best of them and polish them add my illustrations, it wouldn’t be too bad I guess. Just as an experiment.
But I don’t know if you can do that?? What do you guys say?
Published poets please help!
Then this took me to insta poetry. Apparently that’s a thing. I am stupid to be ignorant in that area.
So, I have just made an insta account with the same name “stoneronarollercoaster” would love to see you guys there too. It’s going to be a lot like this blog.
Life’s turning into a barbaric battlefield and I had to convince myself to accept the old overly used concept of “everything is fair in war”
Trying everything does overwhelm you.
It does exhaust and scare you and give you paralyzing nightmares.
But at least you won’t regret not giving it your best shot.

How hard is it to put a book together? Curious now

Take the plunge. Always.
Instapoetry can be tricky, especially if you tend to write longer pieces. A lot of people will post an image and then put their words in the caption, whereas I like to put the words on the image itself. Which presents another challenge in making the words stand out against the backdrop, without losing the impact of the image.
As for e-publishing, I went down the route of using Amazon’s software; https://kdp.amazon.com
It’s free and simple to use. There are plenty of options out there though, so I’d say have a look around and see if you can find one that suits you best. It’s definitely a good way to go, whether you go for e-books, print or both.

the ones and read had poetry on the image. people tend to skip the caption especially if it’s long.
and yes that is tricky. I have tons of pictures and words but to slap them together without diluting effect of each other is tricky. I am new to insta so right now I am just staring at everything blankly.
when I was reading about it I found quite a few popular option Kdp and ibook were at the top. but no matter what you need solid marketing to make a sale.
thank you so much for suggestions and encouragement.

Of course, it’s not a bad idea. invention is not easy, but you can work on your old ideas and garnished it with the desired ingredients of life and make it edible for the all-round benefits of men.

You should definitely go for it. There are so many self-publishing options these days, I have no doubt you can find one/several that is/are right for you. So far, I have no regrets about taking the self-publishing path.
Best of luck and happy writing! 🙂

Self-publishing is really quite simple and there are lots of options out there. I took 50 short pieces from my blog about 6 weeks ago, spent 2 weeks polishing them, and published my collection a little over a month ago. It’s cool to see it in print (I have both print and ebook options), but the reality is that there are billions of ebooks available. The hard part, if you want to make $$ with it, is that is becomes a business that you have to market, promote, etc. That is something I don’t really want to do anymore, so I am very happy that I have sold 3 copies.
Remember, self-publishing is still publishing (in fact just posting it on your blog is publishing) and it is a feat that many people never reach. I would take the leap if I were you.

I dug deeply into the whole thing but I wasn’t that passionate back then. and like you I wasn’t ready to blatantly promote my book (which you have to do to make a sale)
I am thinking about 50 pieces too.
I saw a few videos on youtube that are really helpful for the whole process. compiling publishing and promoting.
thanks for being so supportive and encouraging and congrats on your success. 🙂

do check. I didn’t know too.
it’s simply those images with poetry on them that we see on google images.
you can take an image add your poetry on it and share it on insta.
Rupi Kaur got popularity from there. thats what google says.

That sounds like a great idea! I’ve been following your writing now for a long time and can certainly imagine there are plenty of great pieces that would be related in a way that would create a full publication.
Belated congratulations on reaching 2000+ followers! Your consistently great posts and consistent posting certainly warrant all of them.

Found you there & am now following 🙂
My 2 cents: If you are drawn to doing it, then that’s where you should be 🙂 You must go for it.
You must – if it’s your passion, it’s your mission.
And you have something to offer the world that NO ONE ELSE can. You 🙂
We really are lucky now with the www; we don’t have to wait to be picked up by a publisher!
I agree that technically we are ‘published’ by posting our blogs on WP as I saw someone mention ..
So then there’s the making money side & the exposure side. I’ve looked into some Affiliate programs: I got my first one: Craftsy – you put their button on your site & any sales generated from clicks through your site, you get a commission on! Many places offer this, like Spotify, Ebay, Etsy, etc.
So if someone decides to buy $1000 worth of artwork/courses/supplies that day – you’re golden lolll
Fine Art America is currently looking for bloggers (art blogs) to fill their newsletter & site, in turn for the free exposure. They post a snippet, & hopefully we incite interest with our snazzy titles & generate that traffic 😉 There’s also sponsorships. If you have a YouTube channel for example, with decent traffic, you could get a sponsor, etc ..
I’m partial to the whole “If you build it, they will come;’ & the whole imagine it as ‘It already is, & it will be.’ Last year, I decided to get a copyright for my name to protect my creations, my ‘Conscious Art’ as I like to call it. Just in case. So I did in April 2017. Then I said, Maybe I’ll make some business cards, why not. Thanks Vistaprint. Finally, just 3 months ago in April, I ‘launched’ by incorporating. Officially an ‘entrepreneur!’ Yay. But then the work begins lolll
So I hooked up with Fine Art America as my first (there are many) & have begun uploading my original artwork; be it in digital format, photography, or abstract painting with acrylics. Each print can be printed onto anything your heart desires 🙂
I realize you’re talking more writing than artwork .. but I know there is more stuff I can’t think of atm, but I’m confident there is a way/ways!
