Aaaaand.. done!!- Soft Pastels

For first episode of this drama go there => Taming anxiety – soft pastels

So I am done with making mess and I feel so much better I swear it’s a therapy.

I know it’s first day without word prompts and I still went to check..and got disappointed..even though I knew it wont be there.

Well. Had to divert my anxiety into something. I have already been having panic attacks of different magnitude since yesterday.

Thanks for constant love and support of all my friends here and in real life.

So I took all my art supplies and a reference image.

And start working.

It took a lot of layering of fixative and I must have worked on the whole thing thrice. Coloured then fixed then colored then yea it was quite a process.

But since I was enjoying the process and it was actually helping me so much I don’t regret the time and patience it required.

Here is the result..

How is it guys?

Needless to say, I appreciate healthy criticism and feedback as it helps me grow.

  1. Honestly? I really like this. I’m not an artist, but I can appreciate something that has emotion poured into it. I actually stared at it for over a minute.

I miss the word prompt too. I wonder why they didn’t offer to hand over the site maintenance to someone else. I imagine someone else will pick up and do a daily prompt, I will wait to see which ones grab my attention and stay consistent.

    1. Aww i am so happy you liked it and actually felt something looking at it. I think i won there already.

I saw quite a few people hosting prompts. I have been participating 2 of them already occasionally. So will go hunt prompt hosts and participate on rotation. That’s what i could think of. We need to bring this community togather.

  2. I thought the first one was cool. Love the final product. I love your style too. If I ran into one of your works years from now in some faraway place, I think I’d recognize your work immediately. 😃

      1. I am grateful to you guys from the bottom my heart for the support and encouragement i have been getting from you all.
I havent started selling anything yet i thing i should now but i dont know how. In real life i am awkward and shy can’t really sell anything 😆

      2. Do you have a trusted friend that could assist? Or perhaps google how others have sold their artwork, either on sale or through little adverts on a Facebook page or snapchat with a picture and sale price.

      3. I am really new to idea of selling i havent really started asking friends.
Thats sounds like a good idea pictures with price i will check that.
I needed confidence with my work before starting to sell i think i can do it now.
Thank you for support and suggestions 😊

  3. Great work of art! It speaks a lot about your mood. I do coloring too. Got working on various adult coloring books to calm me. I miss the prompts too. Yeah, it’s never the same. But let us keep the connections.

  4. I love it as well. Your choice of colours and the mood in the image are beautiful. The only thing that I would suggest is to darken the background more to allow her to stand out – to come into her own. But that is only the feeling I get. You are the artist 🙂 What I love is the way that you work with your emotions through art. That in itself is a journey and I am glad that you are documenting it. 🙂

    1. You are right. The layering i had to do was mostly to stick the black and blue pastel in the background i wanted it to be darker too.
Will try doing that with compressed charcoal next time.
Thanks alot for suggestion i really appriciate it 🙂

  5. it is beautiful! soft pastels can be so intimidating sometimes. If you need some inspiration check out the female artist on my site. Their voice are so unique. Their work inspired me to create a blog about them! Keep at girl<3
