Author’s Note- MHA

Before I lose my confidence and get all Awkward and get lost into procrastination tunnel.. lets proceed to phase two of the Mental Health Awareness Mission/Drive/Champagne/Project.

I have straightened the post a little. But I still need to fully update its content.

And drafted this author’s note to attach with the post when forwarding it outside blogosphere:-

“Author’s Note:

The era is plagued by several invisible festering wounds needing urgent attention as they are already consuming us like wildfire.

One of those is ignorance towards Mental Health ranging from general anxiety and brief phases of depression to suicide. Everything in between sounds fiction as we aren’t tuned to perceive it as a health problem.

We can’t really understand it until it happens to us and sometimes we still cannot process the situation as a person suffering from a mental disorder is conveniently labeled as ‘possessed’ or a ‘psycho” and the issue hardly gets addressed medically.

Even if it does most of the times it’s misdiagnosed.

I took the initiative, an effort to educate all of us and start throwing some debris in this giant hole.

I gathered a few people who are dealing with the issue first hand and volunteered to share their experience with us.

It’s too kind of them to help me with this effort. I request you have a look. Feel free to approach them. These beautiful souls are all willing to help whoever needs it.

And I would highly appriciate if you share it further.

Just a few things that I have to say.

The whole purpose of this drive is to make people aware of the demon. It must not be used for marketing purposes.

And my friends here are fighting an ever raging battle within themselves 24/7. Please look beyond labels and don’t judge them.

Be kind.

Thank You.”

Do i need to add or remove something? I will highly appreciate suggestion.

Kindly visit my post Warriors Invited To Raise Mental Health Awareness where I am inviting Mental Health Warriors to submit their blog’s address so that we can join hands to control this wildfire.

  1. Superb! The message is clear and gives people exactly the right idea of what to expect.
Only 3 things I can see:
    1. a couple of typos; “untill” and “conviniently” in the third paragraph
    2. a few instances of a lower case i rather than I.
    3. I may be wrong, but you would have either “took the initiative,” or “devised an initiative.” English is a bastard of a language and ridiculously hard to get right.
Small things to consider. Like I said, the message is clear.

  2. You are doing a marvellous job on this and I’m sure this idea has already helped many people to face the stigma that is usually attached to their condition with courage. Great work, you know we are all here with you in this battleπŸ‘

    1. thank you so much. honestly I had no idea what it is going to turn into. I was just frustrated with the fact that people are so oblivious to something so important.

      1. That was very kind of you. But I suggest you do take the major part of the credit, since you are the one who took up the initiative and decided to take action against what you felt was wrong.
Looking back to your main post that addressed this issue, and seeing how more than a hundred bloggers have come up to to support each other, it’s an immense pleasure to see how smoothly this idea is picking up pace and helping so many people.
If you need any kind of individual help, you know I’m here. Don’t hesitate to contact me.
And once again, it’s a great work!

  3. Typo alert:
    ‘attension’ should be ‘attention’
    ‘debri’ should be ‘debris’*

    * I can never forget the spelling of this because my late father was fond of pronouncing it ‘da bryss’ πŸ™‚
