Went out last night

Ran my gaze

Over midnight sky

Segregated by unruffled ocean

By a thin line

Of fairy lights..

I saw strangers

Many of them

Dark random Silhouettes

Of walking, talking

Breathing stories

I didn’t dare go near

Didn’t dare see their faces

Maybe, I was scared

Of their secret stories

Or maybe I was scared

That I would tell them mine..

I didn’t touch the lights

I was afraid

I could burn my hands

Or maybe I was afraid

I would crush them

With my bare hands

I didn’t dip my feet

In the tranquil ocean

I was nervous

Not that the ocean

Could swallow me

But my own chaos

Would stir a violent storm

In the lovely calm ocean..

I just walked

And watched

Only watched!

The silhouettes..

The fairy lights..

And the calm blue waters..

And returned to my cave

Unaffected and unmoved

As if I never left…

      2. It’s not a sin to eat. And you’re Asian goddammit. It means you will be pressurised someday. Also you’re trusting someone of doing their job. You remember Nestle and how in their chocolates pork and horse meat traces was found. No one knows what goes in that package so forget it.

      4. Ignorance is bliss. Say what you want Stoner. It’s true. And you have already eaten. So there’s that. In older days I’ve heard they used to grind the spices with their hand. Halal is a modern trend, something cooked up for label like Vegetarians have that green symbol.

      5. How do you know without the label? You’re trusting someone. Ask your Dad there was no halal label during his time. So he would have trusted his butcher, so would you. It’s just like when my parent were growing up they didn’t have vegetarian labels. See and I’m also picky about my food. But when people act crazy over a label I want to tell them, hey it’s just a label.

      1. really?? New York city scape is like this?? maybe most of them are like that..sometimes things hide in our conscience and they come out when we are working on an art piece. happens to me every time.
I plan on something and something else magically transfers to the paper. maybe you saw it somewhere and it was there in the back of your mind all along.
        just guessing

  1. It’s such a profound and beautiful composition…it got my feelings flowing on the paper…and before I knew it, my comments emerged as an independent rendition. Don’t want it getting lost in the crowd of comments, so posting it on my blog. Hope you don’t mind. Here’s the link for you to peruse:

PS: If you don’t want me posting it on my blog, just tell me frankly; I’ll remove it immediately.
