Illuminate and Look Around

Do you know your true Calling??

Could you hear your final destiny echoing in valleys of dreams?

5 years back I was an IT auditor in a Big4 firm. At that moment in time I thought this is it! This is what I was born to be. It’s perfect.

And Bam!!! Life happened.

What happened in between is irrelevant.

I fell so hard it took me 4  years to regain some balance.

It’s ok. Part of life.

And then I am here. Playing with colors and words and now I feel this is what I was made to do.

A charcoal stick fits in my hand like it was missing part of me.

Nothing feels better than writing or reading.

Well.

The point is, growing up there were several phases when I believed certain profession, hobby anything was MY thing.

This happens to all of us. But theres something wrong we do. We cling to our “my thing”. We condense all our focus on one dimension and everything else goes blur.

It’s a great strategy when we have goals to accomplish. Its perfect.

My Grandpa always said, “wear horse blinders when you are given a task” and I agree with him.

But if you feel things are slipping away.

And you have tried your best to save the situation.

When you feel the dimension you were focusing at is broken and lost.

Take a step back and look at the bigger picture.

There is a lot ALOT more than what we were hung on.

And we are capable of ALOT more than what we have been believing.

True calling keeps changing. Life is a chameleon we are chasing.

And we keep evolving. We are humans…remember Darwin’s theory??

I will again quote a Rumi quote I just love madly.

So, my friends. You yourself are a source of light. When everything is fading into oblivion.

Start glowing.

Radiate hope and illuminate the universe.

Then look around. You will be amazed at what you have been missing.

I am treating myself with Evanescence and Linkin Park music today.

Amy sings like an angel, doesn’t she??

In this moment. This feels perfect!

  2. I think your grandpa was very enlightened. There is something very deep about the satisfaction of completing a task which we’ve taken on and not been distracted from. Its a skill that few of us have today…. 😦
    Beautiful post.

  3. You are absolutely right- our callings don’t remain the same, much like our lives shouldn’t be stagnant. People should feel encouraged to explore what sets them free and not feel chained to what they do. That’s calling. (At least to me, anyway…)
