It’s not the answer..

Again it was one of our philosophical sessions and we were talking about our school mates.

Bff:   All of them are doing pretty well.

Me:  Yeah.

BFF:  At such young age when they are still in 20s most of them are settled, specially the underdogs, they are doing better than position holders.

Me:   Ahah I agree.

BFF:  All of them are so happy..

Me:   Happy?? I don’t know..

BFF:   What do you mean?

Me:    Umm it’s deceiving. How can you tell they are happy??

BFF:   By wealth and success and Lifestyle. (She said matter-of-factly)

Me:    I guessed that. Don’t you feel they have built walls and hid behind them? And they keep on sticking flashy posters to that wall trying to prove something.

The weaker the person hiding behind it … The thicker the wall is … And the fancier the posters are.

Sit with them. Talk to them for 30 minutes at least and you will be astonished by the magnitude of tragedies they are facing in life.

I talked to a few of them lately. It scared me. I don’t know what to believe anymore.

BFF:   I read a quote by Jim Carrey

I think everybody should get rich and famous and do everything they ever dreamed of so they can see that it’s not the answer”

Me:   You got my point (I smiled).

I wish they never had to build these walls in the first place, mostly there are heart-wrenching reasons behind it.

  1. I think that for every one that is without hope, there is another willing to show how much hope there is. Maybe it’s time to climb over the walls and reach out our hands. Just a thought…

      1. Yes, I agree that this is what they believe. And I also agree that walls make them weaker and it’s easier to hide their heads in the sand. But who they are is important – it always is. Maybe…just maybe…”they” need someone to ask.
